Where does rain come from? Rain always comes from clouds. But where do clouds come from? How does water get into the sky?

Think about your bathroom. There is hot water in your bath. Steam(蒸汽)goes up from the hot water. The steam makes small clouds in the bathroom. These warm clouds meet the cold walls and windows, and then we see small drops of water on the walls and windows.

The world is like your bathroom. The sun shines on the ocean. The water in the ocean becomes warm. Some of the water goes up into the sky and makes clouds. The wind carries the clouds for hundreds of kilometers(千米). Then the clouds meet cold air in the sky, and we see drops of water. The drops of water are rain.

The rain falls and runs into rivers. Rivers run into the ocean. And the water from the ocean makes clouds and more rain. So water is always moving from the ocean to clouds, then to rivers and again to the ocean.

There is a seed on the ground. It's very small and no one notices (注意) it. It goes into the earth(土地). When it's rainy, the seed is thirsty and drinks much rain. When it's sunny, it enjoys the sunshine. Then it grows a small leaf on its head. It grows and grows. It has many big leaves. Now it has a big red flower. It is beautiful.

People often throw things around. They throw paper in the street. They throw cans and bottles in the park. But many things can be used again. We shouldn't throw them away. There are different bins. We can put the useful things and useless things into different bins.

An art teacher asks his students to draw pictures. They can draw anything (无论什么东西) they want.

After a while, a boy hands in (上交) his picture. The teacher looks at it but sees nothing (没有什么东西) on the paper.

“What do you draw?” the teacher asks.

“A cow eats grass.” the boy answers.

“But where is the grass?” the teacher asks again.

“The cow has eaten it up.” answers the boy.

“Where is the cow?”

“When it eats up the grass, it feels thirsty and goes to drink water.”

The USA is the fourth largest country in the world. It is smaller than Russia, Canada and China. Washington, D.C. is its capital. But it is a quiet city. New York is the biggest city in America and it’s one of the biggest cities in the world. It is in the east of the USA and at the mouth of Hudson River. A large part of the city is on Manhattan Island, a big island in the river. New York has a larger population than Washington, D.C. In New York we can see the famous statue, the Statue of Liberty.

There are twelve months in a year. January is the first month of the year. February is second. You know June is the sixth month of the year. All of children like Children’s Day. In China, the first day of June is Children’s Day.

In China, there are many children. Some children can go to school, but some can't. They have no books. They have no pencils. They have no money. They are very poor(贫穷). They are at home or at work. They want to go to school very much. I think we can help them through Project Hope (希望工程). We can give them pencils, books, and money. We can give the poor children our love. Let's go to school together. Don't forget that we are in one family—China.
