It’s Sunday morning. I’m going to have a picnic in the park. I’d like to lie on the grass and look up at the white clouds. I’d like to swing. But it’s raining. I’m sad. I start to cry. Mother says, ‘Wait! We still have the picnic!’ ‘But how? It won’t be fun. It’s wet!’ ‘Dear Tommy, please read in the study. And I’m going to make a picnic in our home.’ Mother comes to the kitchen and starts doing things.

Now mother is ready. I come into the sitting room and see a blanket (毯子) on the floor. The picnic basket is full of chips, fruit and sandwiches. Mother is wearing her straw hat (草帽) and sunglasses. ‘Come on, my boy! It’s picnic time!’ Aha! It’s the best rainy-day picnic!

My name is David. Today is Sunday. On Sundays, I usually play the flute (长笛). My father usually reads the newspaper. My mother cleans the house. But today my mother is in bed. She’s ill. My father has to do the housework. Now he is cleaning the house. “David, can you help me? ”“Yes, Dad!” Now we’re washing the car. Where’s my sister, Amy? She is playing the flute for my mother. Alice lives in Shenzhen. She had a wonderful and busy summer holiday. She went to a lot of places and did a lot of things. At the beginning of the summer holiday, she finished her homework at home. Then she went to Hong Kong and bought many things with her family. After that she went to her hometown. Hunan and visited her grandparents. She helped her grandparents do a lot of housework. She watered the plants, set the table, made the bed and cleaned the room. Then, Alice went to Guilin with her family. They ate a lot of delicious food and took the bamboo raft. At the end of the summer holiday, she went to Yunnan. She climbed the Yulong Snow Mountain. She felt very excited!

The Spring Festival was on February 16th this year. On the eve of the Spring Festival, we had a big dinner. After dinner, I put on my new clothes and went out to watch fireworks. Wow! How colourful and beautiful they were! So we took some photos. After that we went home happily. At twelve o'clock, we cheered to welcome New Year and wished each other good luck. During the Spring Festival, I got lots of red packets. My favorite festival is the Spring Festival.

It's 1st February. The Blacks are cleaning their house because tomorrow is the Spring Festival. Look! Peter is carrying water with his brother Paul. Sam is cleaning the windows. Sally is sweeping the floor. Mr and Mrs Black are cleaning the kitchen. They will make delicious food for the family.

Two hours later, the house is nice and tidy.

It is Saturday. The Browns are at home. Mrs Brown is in the kitchen. She’s making noodles. The noodles are very delicious. Do you want to have a taste? Mr Brown isn't in the living room. He is outside. He is washing his car. The car is new and very beautiful. So he looks after it very well. Jim is in the garden. He is playing football with some other boys. Where is his sister Sue? She's in her bedroom with her friend, Ann. They are watching the Animal World.

My mother and I do some shopping on Sundays. We often go to the supermarket（超市）on Sunday morning in a car. Father likes apples very much. We buy some red apples for him. Mother likes yellow bananas, but the bananas in the supermarket are green. "Look! The strawberries are very nice. Mum. Do you like them?" I say. "Yes, I do." Mother buys some for herself. The oranges are very nice. Mother buys some for me. I like oranges very much.

We need some vegetables. We buy some tomatoes, carrots and broccoli（花椰菜）. I don't like broccoli, but my parents like it. After shopping, mother and I have some French fries, milk and ice cream. And then we go back home with the fruit and vegetables.

On Sunday morning, Mr Baker takes Mike and Joan to a plane. He opens the door of the plane and lets the children in. Soon the plane begins to up. Joan looks out of the window, "Oh, we’re like birds in the sky!" She says. She looks at the houses, but they are like toy houses. Mike looks out of the window, too. He sees some buses. They look like toy buses. The people on the ground look very, very small, too. Then the plane comes down and down, and stops on the ground. Mike and Joan are very happy.
