This is Lucy and that is Lily. Lucy is 12 years old. Lily is 12 years old, too. Lucy looks like Lily and Lily looks like Lucy, too. They look the same. They are twins. But they have different hobbies. Lucy likes listening to music and drawing pictures. Lily likes dancing and playing basketball. They are American. They are new students in Jim’s class. They are in Grade Six. Jim often looks after them. They are new friends. They go to a shop. They would like something to eat and drink. Lucy would like some bread. Lily would like a bottle of orange. Jim would like some apples.

Catherine is my good friend. She is from the US. She lived in Chicago when she was a little girl. After she grew up, she moved to Cuangzhou. She has blonde (金黄色的) hair and big green eyes. There are four people in her family. Her father is an engineer and her mother stays at home to take care of them. Catherine has a brother. He is a primary school student.

Catherine speaks English, and she can speak Chinese too. We often talk about our favourite books and movies. We know about each other very well. Every Friday, we go to the singing club together. We both like singing very much. After having the singing class, her mother often sends me back home. Sometimes, she can even stay overnight (过夜) at my home. We are like twin sisters.

Lisa is the youngest child in the family. When Lisa was a little girl, she loved to play games with her brother and sister.

One day, after a heavy snow, their father was reading in the living room, and their mother was cleaning the house. Lisa and her brother and sister were playing in the backyard. They decided to make a snowman. So Lisa and her sister went back to the house, and they took a carrot, a long red scarf, a hat, and some colourful buttons. The carrot was for the nose, and two buttons were for the eyes. At last, they made a big round snowman. It was very cute.

It's 1st February. The Blacks are cleaning their house because tomorrow is the Spring Festival. Look! Peter is carrying water with his brother Paul. Sam is cleaning the windows. Sally is sweeping the floor. Mr and Mrs Black are cleaning the kitchen. They will make delicious food for the family.

Two hours later, the house is nice and tidy.

I have a happy family. My father is a police officer. He is tall. He likes to play basketball and checkers. My mother is a teacher. She likes to watch TV and read books. I am a student. I am a boy. I like to play on the computer. I am shorter than my father and my mother.

We like to eat noodles. We like to go for a walk after supper. We are a happy family.

It is Saturday. The Browns are at home. Mrs Brown is in the kitchen. She’s making noodles. The noodles are very delicious. Do you want to have a taste? Mr Brown isn't in the living room. He is outside. He is washing his car. The car is new and very beautiful. So he looks after it very well. Jim is in the garden. He is playing football with some other boys. Where is his sister Sue? She's in her bedroom with her friend, Ann. They are watching the Animal World.

Sarah has a big garden. It’s clean and beautiful. There are many colourful flowers in her garden. Some flowers are red and yellow. Some flowers are green and purple. She likes red and yellow flowers best. The flowers are tall and big. They look like tall trees. Sarah waters them every day. She often cleans her garden. Her friends often come to see her flowers. They help her clean the garden. They play games in the garden. They are happy.

Which Skirt to Wear?

Tina is 8 years old, and follows her own ideas. When her parents tell her to do something, she always doesn’t do it. Today, she will go to a friend’s birthday party. She is now choosing skirt to wear. She has three skirts: a blue skirt, a white one and a yellow one. She asks her father, “Which one is the best?” her father says, “I think the blue one is the best.” Then she asks her mother, “Which one do you think is the best?” Her mother answers, “The white one, of course!” Tina says, “Thank you.” Then she puts on the yellow skirt and goes out.
