It's nine o'clock in the evening. The families are at home. Jim's father is sitting in a chair. He's watching TV. His mother is standing near the windows. She's giving some food to the bird, Polly. Polly says, “Thanks! Thanks!” Where's Jim? Oh, he's behind the door. Kate is looking for him. They are playing games. There is no homework on Sunday evening.

John’s family come from the USA. They are in China now. There are four people in their family. John’s father is a doctor. John’s mother works in a school. She teaches English. John and his younger sister are pupils. They study in a school near their home. So they go to school on foot. John studies Maths, Science, Computer Studies at school. His sister studies Music, Art and Maths. They like China very much.

It's a Sunday morning. It's sunny. There are many people in the park. Some students are playing games over there. Two boys are playing football. A girl is flying a kite. Two children are running on the grass. There is a house near the lake. Beside the house two men are working. A woman is watering the flowers. The flowers are very beautiful.

Hi, my name is Mary. It is spring now. But my favourite season is summer. I often wear my skirts and T-shirts. Sometimes I wear my jeans. In summer it is often sunny and hot. Sometimes it's rainy in summer. I like swimming, so I usually swim with my friends on weekends in summer. In summer, I like eating ice-creams. They are delicious. I like summer so much. It brings so many wonderful things to me.

My name is Tom. I am a policeman. I eat dinner at 7:00 in the evening. Then I go to work at 9:00. I work at night. I go home at 5:00 in the morning. I eat breakfast at 6:00.Then I go to bed at 6:20. This is my school. It is in front of a park. It is very big and beautiful. There are twenty-one classes in our school. There are about six hundred students in it. It has three small gardens. 

There are three teaching buildings, too. Building A is for Grade 7. Building B is for Grade 8 and Building C is for Grade 9. There is another building behind the teaching buildings. 

There are two libraries and some reading rooms in it. We can borrow all kinds of books from our school libraries. I like my school.

This is our library. It opens at 8: 00 in the morning and closes at 5: 30 in the afternoon. There are many books in the library. We often come here to borrow books after class. When we borrow the books, we must obey the rules. We borrow only one book at a time and keep it for two weeks. There is a reading room in it. It’s bright and clean. We can read books there, but we can’t take them out.

Tom is a schoolboy. He’s twelve years old. He comes from England. He’s a primary school student. There are four people in his family. They are his father, his mother, his brother and Tom. His father is an engineer (工程师). He’s forty years old. He works very hard. He often works until very late. His mother is a nurse. She’s thirty-eight years old. She works in a hospital. She often helps doctors and patients (病人). She loves her work very much. She’s a good nurse.

Today is Saturday. Tom, his brother and their friends go to Shanghai. Some of their friends are from Guangzhou, some are from Tianjin, and the others are from Beijing. They can speak English very well. They are very happy.

Today is Sunday!  On Sundays I usually play the flute（长笛）. My father usually reads books. My mother usually cleans the house. But today my mother is in bed. She is ill. My father has to do the housework. Now, he is cleaning the house. “Sam, can you help me?” “Yes, Dad!” Now, we're washing the car. Where's my sister, Amy? She is playing my flute. What a lucky girl!
