A Foolish Dog

A dog has a large piece of meat in his mouth. When he is walking on a small bridge, he looks down and sees himself in the water. He thinks it is another dog. That dog has also a large piece of meat in his mouth. He says to himself, “I want to get his meat. Then I can have two pieces of meat.” He opens his mouth to bark at the dog in the water, and his meat falls into the water.

Once upon a time, there was a farmer. One day, while he was working in the fields, he saw a hare run into a tree stump accidentally and die of a broken neck. The farmer took the hare home and cooked a delicious meal for himself.  That night he thought, I needn't work so hard. All I have to do is wait every day by the stump to pick up the hare that runs into it. So from then on he gave up farming, and stood by the tree stump waiting for the hare to come and run into it.  But from then on, he never saw another hare run into the tree stump.

Tom went to Beijing by plane on his holiday. Every day he had fun with his parents. They went boating. They saw some elephants. They went swimming. They ate lots of fresh food. They also took many beautiful pictures. He enjoyed his holiday.

Look at my desk. It’s untidy（不整洁的）. My bag is on the desk. It’s black. Three books are under the bag. Where is my pencil box? Oh. it’s in the bag. A banana is on the desk, too. I don’t like bananas, but my friend Mike likes them. Where is my pencil? Look! It’s under the books.

Sue and Linda usually go to school by car. They drive past（经过）a cinema, a supermarket and a food shop. The food shop is next to the supermarket. Jack and Michael usually go to school by bus. They go past a bank and a post office. The bank is next to the post office. Mary usually goes to work by bike. She rides a bike past a police office, a library and a swimming pool.

Thank you very much for your email. I know you'd like to visit the National Museum in our city. It is a big and famous museum. Let me tell you the way to it. Take your car from your house and drive along Hongxing Street. Turn left at the third turning(岔路口), not the last one. You'll see a park on your right. The museum is opposite （在……对面）the park. It is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every day. There are lots of old things and paintings in the museum. I hope you can have a nice time there. But don't take a camera. You can't use it in the museum. There is a supermarket next to it. You can buy some souvenirs(纪念品) in it.
