My name is Mike. I’m twelve years old. I usually go to school by bus. Sometimes I go by bike, because my home is not far from the school.

I have a good friend. His name is Wu Meng. He is twelve, too. His school is near our school. He always goes to school on foot. He is my best friend.

It’s a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon. I take a school trip with my friends. I am very happy because I don’t need to do my homework. I jump and run. I am so excited that I fall into the river. I am busy on weekends. On Saturday morning, I always go to my music club. On Saturday afternoon, I often stay at home and do my homework. Sometimes I go shopping. On Sunday morning, I help my mother clean the room. On Sunday afternoon, I often play ping-pong or basketball.

In autumn, leaves fall to the ground. Many trees have nuts and fruit. Animals may begin to store food. Some birds collect nuts to store. Other birds fly to warmer places for winter. They won’t return until spring. Days become shorter. Cold weather is coming. The fur of many animals gets thick because they need a thick coat to protect them. People also wear warmer clothes, because the weather is a little colder. In some places there may be rain or even snow, but in many southern places it is still warm. Autumn is also the time when farmers harvest their crops. People look forward to autumn for many reasons. The most important one is that autumn is he harvest season.
