Every year there is a very big Christmas tree in the centre of London. This is the present from the people of Norway to the people of Great Britain. They send it to the Londoners every year and Londoners decorate the Christmas tree. In the evening before Christmas, people like to look at the big tree. On Christmas Eve the streets in London are decorated, too. The shops are very busy at Christmas. People want to buy presents for their family and friends. People open their presents on Christmas morning and they are all happy with what they get. For Christmas lunch people eat turkey, potatoes and green vegetables. Then they have the Christmas pudding. At five o'clock it's time for tea and Christmas cake. On Christmas Day people wish their nearest and dearest friends a merry Christmas.

Hi, I’m Sally. I live in Canada. I hear there are many interesting places in China. I plan to go to Beijing, Hangzhou and Xi’an next month by plane. Beijing is the capital of China. The Great Wall is in Beijing. It’s very long. The West Lake is in Hangzhou. Hangzhou is in Zhejiang Province. I hear it is very beautiful. Xi’an is in Shaanxi. The terracotta army is in there. Helen has four brothers and sisters. They are Jenny, Peter, Bill and Anna. Helen is the oldest of them. Jenny is thirteen years old. She is two years younger than Helen, and one year older than Peter. Bill is nine and Anna is seven years old. Jenny and Peter are good runners. But Peter can run faster. Mr Brown got up late this morning. He was going to be late for work. It was raining hard and the streets were wet. He drove so fast that he didn’t see the red lights. He couldn’t stop his car and hit a car. An old man got out of the car and called out angrily, “What are you doing? How can you drive so fast?”

“I’m sorry, sir,” said Mr Brown, “I didn’t see the lights turn red.” Then he brought out a bottle of wine and gave it to the old man.

The old man drank some wine and became happy. He said, “I’m feeling much better now. Why don’t you drink any?”

Ben is American. Now he studies in No. I Middle School. He's good at studying. He's got a lot of Chinese friends. He's very busy from Monday to Friday. He likes Saturday best because he likes to make some coffee at home very much. Sometimes his Chinese friends come to his home and learn how to make coffee. Ben will teach them, "First, pour some water into a pot and heat (加热)the water. Next, take the instant (速溶的) coffee and put about one teaspoon of it into your teacup. Then, pour the nearly boiling water into your teacup. Finally, stir(搅拌)your coffee and put some sugar in it. Now you can enjoy the wonderful drink. "  But his friends still like to drink Ben's coffee. They chat with each other and play football together. They are happy.
