Last weekend, we went to a park for a picnic. It was sunny. We had lunch at about twelve o’clock. The food was very good. But we didn’t have anything to drink. Lily had some money. So she went to buy some drink. We waited for a long time, but she wasn’t back. Tom said, “Let’s look for her.” Under a big tree, we found her. She was sitting under the tree. “I hurt my foot,” Lily said. We took her to the hospital. The doctor said her injury（伤）was not serious（严重的）.

How to Improve Our English

Many students find it hard to learn English. When I was thirteen, I began to keep a diary in English. At first it was difficult, but now it is easy. I know it is not easy to learn English without practice. I like reading, speaking and listening to English. After school I usually go to the library to read English stories.

I have little time to watch TV. After I finish writing my diary, I always practice reading it through. I can correct my mistakes in this way. I think that keeping a diary is one of the best ways to learn English.

The Browns

It is Saturday. The Browns are at home. Mrs brown is in the kitchen. She’s making apple pies. The pies are very delicious. Do you want to have a taste? Mr Brown isn’t in the living room. He is outside. He is washing his car. The car is new and very beautiful. So he looks after it very well. Jim is in the garden. He is playing football with some other boys. Where is his sister, Sue? She’s in her bedroom with her friend, Ann. They are watching The Animal World.

Travelling

Many people like to travel (旅行) by plane, but I don’t like it because an airport(机场) is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours (小时) for the plane to take off (起飞) and it is often late. You can’t open the window. You can’t choose (选择) the food. Planes are fast, but they still take hours to get out of the airport and into the city.

I like travelling by train. I think trains are safe. Train stations are usually in cities. When you can’t catch a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train and open the windows. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time.

I also like cars. You can start your journey (旅行) when you want to, and you don’t need to get to a train station or a bus stop. Also you can carry many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.

The Road family often does housework together at the weekends. Pam often cleans bedrooms. Her father buys groceries（食品杂货）for the next week. Her mum washes the clothes. John, Pam’s brother, cuts grass in their garden.

The Roads often ride a bike to the park nearby. In the park, they can play basketball and football. They always have a good time there.

It is happy when a family works and plays together.
