John is thirteen. He has a bad cold and coughs（咳嗽）day and night. He goes to see a doctor. The doctor gives him some cough medicine.

Some monkeys are playing in a tree near a lake. They are having a good time. Suddenly a little monkey cries, “Look, the moon has dropped into the water!” “Get it out, hurry!” says an old monkey. The little monkey hangs from the tree by his tail. Then each monkey hangs from the other by his legs. At last they get to the water, but they still cannot scoop up(舀上来) the moon. Another little monkey finds half a gourd(葫芦)to scoop up the moon. He gets the moon in the gourd. At that time all the monkeys come for the moon. But the gourd drops and the moon is broken. The monkeys are very sad. But when they look up, they find the moon is still high up in the sky, shining bright.

My birthday will be on December 12th. I’m going to have a birthday party at home that day.1 want to invite all my classmates and teachers to the party. I hope everyone will have fun at the party. Today is my friend Wang Xia’s birthday. She will cook dinner for her parents. Everyone in her family likes soup, so she will make chicken soup for starters. Her parents will buy the cake from the supermarket. She hopes her parents will enjoy the food.

There are two buildings in my school. There are fifty classrooms and ten teachers’ rooms in the school. We have lessons in the classroom building. In front of the classroom building, there is a big playground. Sometimes we play sport there. Opposite the playground, there is a swimming pool. Beside the swimming pool, there is a brown building. There are three computer rooms, one large music room and a library in that building. There are many books at the library.

Tom and Fred are students. They are both twelve years old. They are in the same class in their school.

On Friday afternoon they have a fight in class. Their teacher is very angry. He says to both of them, “Stay here after the lessons this afternoon, and write your names a hundred times,” After last lesson, all the other students go home, but Tom and Fred stay in the classroom with their teacher.
