    The "best years of your life"? Maybe not, but you can learn to make the most of your high school days.

    Learn to appreciate small things. Whether it's having a computer, having friends, having a good supply of food, a bed to sleep on, family that loves you, having a decent education or simply being born in this world, value it. ____ Be happy, and life will reward you. Remember that these are the last few years you will be able to enjoy yourself without having to worry about the responsibility of an adult, but make sure you prepare yourself for when you do become one.     Choose your friends wisely.     Keep your grades up. ____ This also sets you up to get into a college you want to go to, which in turn prepares you for a career you will enjoy, improving your quality of life in the future. You'll get cheap car insurance as well if you have at least a B or A average.

    ____ Participating in clubs, activities, and sports increases your chances of meeting new friends. While you only need 4 or 5 close friends, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to meet new people. Participating gives you something to do instead of sitting bored at home and wallowing in self-pity.

    Work at a job you can enjoy. Working is a great way co gain experience and to meet other people. ____ This will look great on your resume. If you can't find work, especially in this hard economic time, volunteer or make your own job.

      ①中华民族历史悠久如滔滔长河，若没有语言文字的记载，无论是汉唐盛世，还是唐诗宋词，都将在后人的世界里湮灭无迹。在所有的伟大发明中，最重要的当属文字。
      ②然而，对文字的滥用和扭曲，现在正成为一个令人忧心的社会现象。随着网络时代的到来一笔一画的手写汉字逐渐为电脑键盘的敲击所代替，许多人只能大致记住汉字的形状，提笔却无法正确写出具体部首和结构。一些喜欢求新逐异的年轻人，以自造“火星文”为时尚，网络上出现了“火星文转换器”，比如把“请不要使用错别字”转换成“埥芣婹使鼡措莂牸”，每一个字都用的是汉字的偏旁部首，可是却古怪离奇，难以理解。在街头巷尾的各种广告、标牌里，“精品装璜”（潢）、“补胎冲（充）气”、“欢渡（度）春节”等等，不胜枚举。由此看来，语言文字的规范遭遇前所未有的挑战。
      ③瑞士语言学家索绪尔认为，语言具有历时性和共时性特点，既在纵向发展中代代相传，又在共有时空里人人互用。作为语言的符号，文字历经历史陶冶与文化锤炼，形成完整的形、
音、义系统，在现实生活里发挥书写性灵、传递信息、协调行动、创造文明的重要作用。
      ④作为中华民族的通用语言符号，汉字具有神奇的魅力。它间架方正，音韵优美，象形生动，表意鲜明。“何处合成愁，离人心上秋”，宋人吴文英将“愁”字拆分释义，便生发出萧索意绪。“叶上初阳干宿雨，水面清圆，一一风荷举”，宋人周邦彦妙写荷花神理，尽显一派绝佳风致。
      ⑤国学大师饶宗颐先生说：“造成中华文化核心的是汉字，而且成为中国精神文明的旗帜。”汉字是中华文明的标志，汉字的精神就是中华文化的精神。抗日战争时期，日本人在我国东北地区推行奴化教育，其方式即是废除汉字，逼迫中国人学日语，一些人为守护民族语言文字的纯洁性甚至献出宝贵生命。
      ⑥任何文字都是文化的载体，而不仅仅是表意符号和交流工具。上古的结绳记事，伏羲氏的一画开天，甲骨文、钟鼎文、行楷隶篆，汉字在漫长的发展中，为悠久的民族历史和璀璨文明书写了浩帙鸿篇。如果中华文明史的建构，需要无数国人的不断努力，那么文字的规范、语言的纯洁将是其牢不可破的基石。
      ⑦汉字是我们文化的根，是滋养我们现实生存发展的血液。我们不能以游戏的心态对待书写的随意和错误，而应当敬重汉字，把我们民族的优秀文化书写、传承下去，为五千年的文明史续写新篇章。
