材料一  秦王朝形成了以“王都——郡城——县城”为代表的中央集权制度。在这样的制度下,城市的商业、农业、手工业得到了极大的发展,而政体变革和经济的进展,使我国的城镇体系形成了自上而下,从中央到地方的垂直等级规模结构。除此之外商品经济的活跃、封建土地拥有量差别的加大,使当时出现了“万室之国,千室之都”的等级联系……如此,出现了大中小城市,推动了城市的扩大与发展,不再受分封制的限制。城镇系统等级愈加清楚、明朗。

材料二  宋朝时期,首次出现了主要以商业而不是以行政为中心的城市……浙赣地区的小县横峰县(旧名兴安),当地民谚云:“小小横峰县,两家豆腐店,堂上打屁股,四门都听见。”由于它是县治所在地,这个县城当然属于城市一级,而附近的全国四大镇之一的景德镇、江西四大镇之一的河口镇,却非行政驻地,只能归于市镇一类。

材料三  在太湖周边地区,明清两代千户规模以上的市镇,至少有54个……湖州府邻界的嘉兴府桐乡县鸟青镇,是江南第一大镇。其疆域范围已超过了湖州、嘉兴二府的府城,自然要比桐乡县城来得庞大,颇具“府城气象”。其行政管理上曾设有高于县官的通判和同知。苏州府吴江县的盛泽镇,也是首屈一指的大镇。由于经济上的繁荣,政治地位也显得日渐重要。到乾隆五年,吴江县丞就移驻于此,遂称“巨镇”。嘉兴府嘉善县的县丞与主簿都不驻县治,分别驻于西塘镇(亦称斜塘镇)和风泾镇(即枫泾镇),以加强对县境边区的控制与管理。

    Why doesn't the conductor face the audience?____As the only person with his back to the audience, the conductor is a figure who is bathed in the spotlight, but his complex work requires a high degree of musical skill, as well as an ability to extract what he desires out of the group of artists he leads--his orchestra.
