Grandpa’s Investment Pays Off

When I was a student, my family went through a few rough financial years. We _______, but with much effort and many worries.

This morning, I was jogging in the park where I caught sight of a wallet on a bench. Clear, someone had left it there by an accident. I picked it up and checked the contents. Inside them, I found some money and a card with a phone number. Believing that the owner would be worrying, I immediately tried the number. A man answers it in an anxious voice. Heard that I had his wallet, he sighed with relief and told me he would return right away. Ten minute later, the man arrived. After confirming (确认) he was the owner, I handed the wallet back him. With his thumb up, he expressed his gratitude to me repeatedly. Seeing the smile in his face, I felt happy that I was able to help.

In a different evening of November two years ago, we had a big party to celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the Concert Hall in our school. Present at the party was all the students and teachers, apart from some of the school leaders. Working together on stage, the teachers and students gave a lot of wonderfully American performances. For an example, they cooperated with each other perform witty skits（滑稽短剧）as well as singing and dancing. To our surprises, they also played magic tricks. The performances were very amazing that we all had a good time that evening.

Therefore, happy time really flies. The moment finally comes when the party came to an end. We are looking forward to get together to perform again.

   As the saying goes, "Roses given, fragrance in hand. " I am always in the_________of giving money to every beggar or homeless person I pass by. My friends say it is not good to________them.
