One day an old man is taking a train to his hometown. One of his shoes falls onto the ground, but the train starts. He can not pick it up. Then he takes off the other and throws it near the fallen shoe. A boy beside his asks him ,“why do you do that?” He says, “If a man picks them up ,he may as well get a pair of shoes.”

My name is Lily. This is my house. There are five rooms in my house. This is my father and mother’s room. There are three pictures on the wall. There is a desk near the window. There are two chairs behind the desk. On the left of the room, there is a toilet. On the right, it’s my room. There are four pictures and a poster on the wall.

Sarah has a big garden. It’s clean and beautiful. There are many colourful flowers in her garden. Some flowers are red and yellow. Some flowers are green and purple. She likes red and yellow flowers best. The flowers are tall and big. They look like tall trees. Sarah waters them every day. She often cleans her garden. Her friends often come to see her flowers. They help her clean the garden. They play games in the garden. They are happy.

There is a seed on the ground. It's very small and no one notices (注意) it. It goes into the earth(土地). When it's rainy, the seed is thirsty and drinks much rain. When it's sunny, it enjoys the sunshine. Then it grows a small leaf on its head. It grows and grows. It has many big leaves. Now it has a big red flower. It is beautiful.

My mother and I do some shopping on Sundays. We often go to the supermarket（超市）on Sunday morning in a car. Father likes apples very much. We buy some red apples for him. Mother likes yellow bananas, but the bananas in the supermarket are green. "Look! The strawberries are very nice. Mum. Do you like them?" I say. "Yes, I do." Mother buys some for herself. The oranges are very nice. Mother buys some for me. I like oranges very much.

We need some vegetables. We buy some tomatoes, carrots and broccoli（花椰菜）. I don't like broccoli, but my parents like it. After shopping, mother and I have some French fries, milk and ice cream. And then we go back home with the fruit and vegetables.

On Sunday morning, Mr Baker takes Mike and Joan to a plane. He opens the door of the plane and lets the children in. Soon the plane begins to up. Joan looks out of the window, "Oh, we’re like birds in the sky!" She says. She looks at the houses, but they are like toy houses. Mike looks out of the window, too. He sees some buses. They look like toy buses. The people on the ground look very, very small, too. Then the plane comes down and down, and stops on the ground. Mike and Joan are very happy.

Which Skirt to Wear?

Tina is 8 years old, and follows her own ideas. When her parents tell her to do something, she always doesn’t do it. Today, she will go to a friend’s birthday party. She is now choosing skirt to wear. She has three skirts: a blue skirt, a white one and a yellow one. She asks her father, “Which one is the best?” her father says, “I think the blue one is the best.” Then she asks her mother, “Which one do you think is the best?” Her mother answers, “The white one, of course!” Tina says, “Thank you.” Then she puts on the yellow skirt and goes out.
