I am Ben. I am an English boy. But now I live in Guangzhou with my father, my mother and my sister. There are four seasons here. Summer is very hot. But I like summer best, because I can go swimming every day. My sister's favourite season is winter. It isn't very cold in winter in Guangzhou. And it seldom snows. So she needn't wear very thick clothes. She hates it very much. My father and mother prefer autumn. They like fruit very much. They can enjoy fresh and delicious fruit in autumn. We love Guangzhou very much.

Kunming is in the southwest（西南）of China. There are four seasons in Kunming, but the weather never gets too hot or too cold. There is plenty of rain in summer in Kunming, but it usually rains at night. In the daytime（白天）, the weather is nice and cool.

Kunming is a city（城市）with nice weather and lots of sunshine. Every season is like spring in Kunming. So flowers grow well here. You can see lots of pretty flowers all year round in Kunming.

I am Jim. October 18th is my birthday, so it is my favourite day. I am very happy on that day. I eat eggs and noodles for breakfast. My friends come to my home and play with me. We sing songs and dance together. Someone plays the piano and someone plays the guitar. My parents cook delicious food for lunch. We can have fish, meat and vegetables for the main course and a sweet chocolate cake for dessert. After lunch, my friends and I play outdoors. After supper, my parents and I watch TV. She thinks the salty food is delicious. Their English teacher Mrs White is an English lady. She thinks Chinese food is good but her favourite food is Western food.

Today is my friend Wang Xia’s birthday. She will cook dinner for her parents. Everyone in her family likes soup, so she will make chicken soup for starters. Her mother likes dumplings and her father enjoys noodles. So for the main course, they will have dumplings and noodles. Then for dessert, they will have a chocolate cake and ice cream. Her parents will buy the cake from the supermarket. She hopes her parents will enjoy the food.

There are two buildings in my school. There are fifty classrooms and ten teachers’ rooms in the school. We have lessons in the classroom building. In front of the classroom building, there is a big playground. Sometimes we play sport there. Opposite the playground, there is a swimming pool. Beside the swimming pool, there is a brown building. There are three computer rooms, one large music room and a library in that building. There are many books at the library.

Mr Black teaches us English this term（学期）. He is a tall man. He likes wearing a white shirt and a pair of black trousers. He speaks English very well. We like his lessons very much. His home is near the school. Sometimes Mr Black walks back his home. He has two little sons. They look the same. They often wear the same clothes. He loves to play with them. Mr Black calls the two boys Damao and Xiaomao.

Tom and Fred are students. They are both twelve years old. They are in the same class in their school.

On Friday afternoon they have a fight in class. Their teacher is very angry. He says to both of them, “Stay here after the lessons this afternoon, and write your names a hundred times,” After last lesson, all the other students go home, but Tom and Fred stay in the classroom with their teacher. They begin writing their names. The teacher looks at Fred and says, “Why are you crying, Fred?” “Because his name is Tommy, and my name is very very long. My name is Frederick Hollingsworth,” Fred says.
