Tony wants to share(分享) his living habit with us.

Here is what Tony usually does on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. At 6:00 a.m. , he gets up and brushes his teeth. Then at 6:30, he goes running for an hour. After that, he takes a shower and cleans up for work. He leaves home for work at 7:30. It takes him 20 minutes to drive to his office. He starts to work at 8:00. In the afternoon, he usually arrives home from work at 6:30.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays he gets up at 7:00 a.m. He does some housework and then goes to work. He only has to get up early to exercise 3 days a week.

Tony also has healthy eating habits. On the days he doesn’t need to exercise, and he usually goes to the stores to buy food. He buys healthy food such as vegetables and fruit. Sometimes he buys some meat. He likes eating beef. He likes cooking dinner at home.

He likes to relax on the weekend. He often goes to the park with his friends. He also likes to watch movies.

   It’s hard when a best friend isn’t around — maybe because you move to a different school or a different class. You may feel lonely at break (课间) or lunchtime. You want to have new friends, but how do you make them?

Start by looking around your classroom. Think about which kids you’d like to play with at break. Say hi to them, smile, and be friendly. Ask them to enjoy something or talk with them about something they may be interested in. Invite someone to play with you or ask “Do you want to sit here?” in the lunchroom. When you’re at break, walk to kids you want to play with, and say “Hi, can I play, too?” or just join in.

If you are feeling shy (害羞), ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually good at matching up friends. The best way to make friends is to be a friend. Be kind, be friendly, say nice things and help others —soon you’ll have one, or two, or even more new friends.

   When Brody Roybal was a baby, he didn’t have legs. But that didn’t make him feel sad or stop him from trying any sports.

He tried different kinds of sports. When he tried sled hockey (雪橇曲棍球）at the age of 7, he found his favorite hobby.

“That was it,” says Roybal. He is now 16 and a student in high school in Chicago. “It’s all I wanted to do.”

Roybal joined a sled hockey team. By the age of 12, Roybal was very good and he started playing in an adult (成人) team. This was a big challenge because it’s much harder.

Now Roybal is the youngest U.S. Paralympics (残奥会的）player. He’s a member of the sled hockey team in his country.

O'Connor, an old player, says Roybal is very good. “Everybody dreams of going to the Olympic Games and winning the game,” O'Connor says. “That’s something that I couldn't do, but Roybal can. He is lucky enough to go to the next Olympics.”

It’s true that when God closes a door, he opens a window for you.

   Everyone knows that exercise is important. We all need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It makes your heart and body strong. Children who often exercise are more alert（灵活）. That means they do better in tests and schoolwork than those who don’t exercise.

There are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ball games. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: You have to like what you are doing. Exercise enough — but not too much. It’s best to exercise twice a week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of sports until you find one, two or even three sports that feel right for you.

You can exercise at fitness centers. They have a lot of equipment（设备）there. The equipment will help exercise your arms, legs and other parts of your body to make you healthy. Some people buy equipment for their homes. But it’s very expensive.

I am a middle school student. I am in Grade 8 now. My home is near our school. I am the student __________ to our school than any other student in our class. I have two good friends, Mike and Jack.    Once there was a piano player in a bar. People came just to hear him play. But one night, a lady asked him to sing a song.“I don’t sing,” said the man. But the lady told the waiter, “ I’m tired of listening to the piano. I want the player to sing!” The waiter shouted across the room, “Hey, friend! If you want to get paid, sing a song!”

So he did. He never sang in public before. Now he was singing for the very first time!

He had talent he was sitting on! He may live the rest of his life as a no-name piano player in a no-name bar. But once he caught the chance and found that he could sing well. He went on working hard and became one of the best-known singers in the US. His name was Nat King Cole.

You, too, have skills and abilities. You may not feel that your talent is great, but it may be better than you think. With hard work, most skills can be improved. Besides, you may have no success at all if you just sit on your talent.

   It was Sunday yesterday. Henry wasn’t_______ home. He was on a ________ to the zoo.
