Xiaohe is from Guangdong, China. He lives in Heyuan, a small city in Guangdong, with his grandparents and sister. His parents leave home and work in a factory(工厂).

There is a famous school in the city. Xiaohe and his sister study there. Every day, they get up at 6:30 am. They have to eat quickly for breakfast in the morning, because they can’t be late for school. Then they ride a bike to school. The school is far from their home and it often takes them about 45 minutes to walk there. There are many rules in their school. Students have to do morning exercises at 8:00 a.m, and they can’t bring music players to school. The teachers are strict there, too. But Xiaohe loves his school and his head teacher, Mr. Bai. Mr. Bai teaches English, and he can speak English well. Xiaohe thinks strict rules help him grow up better.
