        母亲骂我不会管孩子，她说我：“该管不管！”我也觉得我的儿童教育有点儿特别。
        刚下过雨，孩子们向我请求：
        “让我们光脚去玩，好不好？”
        我满口答应，孩子们高兴极了，脱下鞋子，卷起裤腿儿，三个一阵呼啸而去。母亲怪我放纵，她说满街雨水，不应当让孩子们光脚去蹚水，我回答母亲：“蹚水是顶好玩儿的事，我小的时候不是最爱蹚水吗？”母亲只好骂我一句：“该管不管！”
        我记得童年时候，喜欢做的许多事情都是爸妈所不喜欢的，因为他们不喜欢，我便更喜欢，所以常常背着他们做。我和二妹谈起童年的淘气，至今犹觉开心。比如扯下床单把瘦鸡子似的三妹包在里面，我和二妹两头儿拉着，来回的摇，瘦鸡子笑，我们也笑，连管不了我们的奶奶都笑了起来了（可见她也喜欢淘气了），笑得没了力气，手一松，床单裹着人一齐摔倒地下，瘦鸡子哇的哭了，我们更笑得厉害，虽然知道爸爸回来免不了吃一顿手心板。
        有一次我们要出门，二女儿问她的爸爸：
        “妈妈也出去吗？”
        爸爸说：“是的。”
        二女把两条长辫子往后一甩，拍着小手儿笑嘻嘻地向三女说：
        “妈妈也出去，我们好开心！”
        我正在房里换衣服，听了似有所悟，他们像我一样吗？喜欢背着爸妈做些更淘气的勾当。我的爸妈那样管束我，并没有多大效力，我又何必施诸儿女？这以后，我便把尺度放宽，甚至有时帮助他们把枕头堆起来，造成一座结结实实的堡垒抵御敌人，枕头上常常留有他们的小泥脚印，母亲没办法，便只好又骂我：“该管不管！”我心想，他们的淘气还不及我的童年一半呢！
        成年人总是绷着脸儿管教孩子，好像我们从未有过童年，不知童年乐趣为何物何事。有一天我正伏案记童年，院里一阵骚动，加上母亲唉唉叹声，我知道孩子们又惹了祸，母亲喊：“你来管管。”我疾步趋前，喝！三个丑小鸭一字儿排开，站在那里等候我发落。只见三张小脸儿三个颜色：我的小女儿一向就是“娇女儿泪多”，两行泪珠挂在她那“灵魂的窗户”上，闪闪发光；大女儿的脸上涂着“迷死弗多”口红，红得像台湾番鸭的脸；那老二，小字虽然没写完，鼻下却添了两撇仁丹胡子。一身的泥，一地的水。不管他们惹了什么样的祸，照着做母亲的习惯，总该上前各赏一记耳光，我本想发发脾气，但是看着他们三张等候发落的小花脸儿，想着我的童年，不禁哑然失笑。孩子们善观气色，便也扑哧哧都笑起来，我们娘儿四个笑成一团。

        母亲又骂我：“该管不管！”我也只好自叹“教子无方”了。
