向最讨厌的人学习

       ①强大者必有“讨厌”之处。反过来说,令人讨厌之人必有其别人所不具备的优势。

       ②人的身上有两条虫:一条是可怜虫,一条是讨厌虫。可怜虫发作的时候,必会对他人产生怜悯和同情,讨厌虫发作的时候,必会对人、对事产生反感和不喜欢。人们对外界事物的普遍应激反应是同情弱者、讨厌强者。心理学家说:“当我们讨厌某人时,往往因为对方身上拥有和我们相同的缺点。”当对方将我们的缺点暴露出来,我们就会将讨厌他的情绪表露出来。另外,强大者往往因强大而“获罪”,正如美国哲人爱默生说:“所有的英雄最后都令人讨厌。”当最讨厌的对象能胜任的工作让我们难以企及时,我们也会将讨厌他的情绪表露出来。这就是产生讨厌情绪的秘密。

       ③讨厌是一种感性的说法,如果我们理性地看待,就会发现,几乎最讨厌的人身上,都有值得学习之处。

       ④如果我们将社会视为一个有机整体,最讨厌的人在其中只占少数。他们的存在能够让我们看清楚自己的不足,让我们从讨厌模式切换到学习模式。这是处人待事最好的方法。

       ⑤在异己和类己之间,异己容易成为最令自己讨厌的人。无论国家、城市还是个人,观念的不同很容易造成分歧、谩骂与讨厌。如何对待异己,是宽容、借鉴、欣赏、接纳,还是怀有偏见?这绝不是成功学的选择,而是一种心智成熟的表现。前者容易让人成为虚心好学、睿智开朗的成功者,而后者则容易让人成为目光短浅、心胸狭窄的失败者。

       ⑥怎样向最讨厌的人学习呢?

       ⑦苏东坡曾问佛印禅师:“你看你像谁?”佛印说:“像佛。”苏东坡讥笑:“我看你像一堆牛粪。”佛印不语。苏东坡回家说给苏小妹听,苏小妹说:“哥哥,你输了,你看别人是什么,你自己就是什么,你的看法是内心的投射。”苏东坡非常惭愧,他收起狂傲之心,变得虚心、宽容,接纳他人,最终不仅与佛印引为知己,还成为宋代最豪迈旷达的诗人。

       ⑧麦客卢汉坦承,他曾受到讨厌情绪的困扰:“有许多年,我对一切新环境都抱着极端的道德判断的态度。我讨厌机器,厌恶城市,把工业革命与原罪画上等号,把大众传媒与堕落画上等号。简言之,我几乎拒斥现代生活的一切。”后来,他将这种负面情绪转化为学术研究的动力,开始研究20世纪杰出的艺术家,发现艺术创作是普通经验的回放——从垃圾到宝贝的过程,最终成为传播学巨擘。

       ⑨尼采这样说:“如果我们不能胜任善,善就令我们讨厌。”同样,如果我们不能胜任学习,学习也会令我们讨厌。最讨厌的人能胜任的恰恰是我们所不能胜任的,我们没有任何理由不去学习他。因此可以这样说:“当你变成你所讨厌的人时,你就成功了。”

       ⑩没有人可以取悦所有的人,最讨厌的人也是相对的概念。记住一句有用的话:“请你最讨厌的人一起吃饭,而不是请你最喜欢的人。”
