I’d like tell you something about my life in this boarding school. I stay in a dormitory (寝室) with three other girls, all of whom are kind and nice. We get on well to each other and have became good friends. Living in a boarding school make me independent. I have confident to take care of myself, wash the clothes, and clean the rooms, that I never did at home. The classes here are very interesting and challenging, and I’m still feeling a little dissatisfied with some other things. The living conditions are not as good as those at home and the chance to get in the touch with the outside world is limited. Anyway, I’ll get used to live here and hope everything will be more better soon.

   The winter skies are grey and it’s cold outside. The nights come early and we spend a lot more time ____ and alone. Many people ____winter: so cold, so dark, so boring. But I like winter because I have more time to read.

For many students reading means school; it means ____. Reading is something your teacher assigns and it’s something you’re ____. Reading is something you have to do, not something you want to do. All of those books are studied in North American high schools. They are interesting and well written books that ____young people. ____, even there, many high school students don’t enjoy reading the books because they are ____their school work: “Oh, my God! Two hundred pages! I’ll never be able to read ____much.” But sometimes a funny thing happens. They begin to read and they begin to follow the ____. Suddenly, the world inside the book becomes more exciting and more wonderful than the world they ____. At the moment the thought ____reading is work disappears and reading becomes ____.

Reading anything is ____but reading good books is a terrific way to improve your English. Good writers write English very well and ____you with good examples to follow.
