Everybody has different hobbies that they like to do for fun or just to relax． There are many kinds of activities like volleyball， basketball， swimming， or baseball． It all depends on each personality．For me， basketball is a part of my life and it means a lot to me．

Since I was a little girl， I started to play basketball in the school team and also with my friends in the neighborhood． My mother told me that I liked kicking the ball around and had so much fun with it when I was only about two years old． Since then， playing basketball is my favorite sport． It is my hobby whenever I have free time．

Playing basketball also helps me to relax and be confident． I often play basketball with my classmates in the playground． After doing my homework or when I come home from school， I play a little bit with my friends outside of my house or we go to the park to play it．

Whenever I play basketball， I feel healthier and stronger． Besides， I meet new friends from the neighborhood． I not only like playing basketball， but I also enjoy watching basketball games on television．

   Soap operas （肥皂剧） and sitcoms（情景喜剧） are two different kinds of popular TV shows． What are the differences between them？

A soap opera is usually very long and has many episodes（集）． All the episodes of a soap opera are interconnected． The first soap opera was on the radio in the late 1930s． One of the most famous soap operas is Friends．

A sitcom， or a situation comedy， is a set of funny stories． These stories all happen（发生） in a small place， like a house or a workplace． Sitcoms are different from soap operas． Each story in a sitcom can be different from others and sitcoms can make people feel happy． There is a very popular sitcom on TV in China． It is Home With Kids．

   As we know， the 2012 Olympic Games will be held in London， the UK． The torch relay （火炬接力） is starting． It begins on May 19， 2012 and it ends on July 27． During the 70-day torch relay， it will pass through towns and cities including Bristol， Liverpool，Manchester， Oxford， and Dover． London's Olympic Games will be held from July 27 to August 12．The Olympic Flame（火焰） will travel 8，000miles across the UK． 8，000 torchbearers（火炬手） will carry the Olympic Flame for about 300 meters each． Half of the torchbearers should be aged between 12 and 24 and the rest include people with a story of achievement．The torch was designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osger by． It looks like a large triangle（三角形）， which stands for the three words faster， higher， stronger． It also means that London is hosting（举办） the Olympic Games for the third time． This is great in Olympic history． The torch has 8，000circles， standing for the 8，000 torchbearers． The torch relay is one of the most important parts of the Olympic Games．
