My name is Nancy. I'm sixteen years old. I am from Canada. My parent(父母) are teachers in a middle school. They work from Monday to Friday. I have a sister. Her name is Jenny. She is seventeen. We are in the same school. We go to school together(一起). We have four classes(课) in the morning and two in the afternoon. We go home(家) at four in the afternoon. We don't do our homework in the afternoon. On Saturdays and Sundays we don't go to school. On Saturdays my parent(父母) like to have dumplings for supper. But my sister and I don't. We like bread and cakes. We often go to a restaurant for supper on Sundays.

School Rules

There are some school rules in Shuren Middle School. The students have different ideas about them. Let's have a look.

Jack: Some of them are too strict—Don't give a call between classes. Don't ride a bike at school.

Lucy: I don't think some of them are good—Don't be late. Don't eat food between classes. Girls can't wear miniskirts in summer.

Maria: Some of them are good for our study and life—Keep the classroom clean every day. Boys' hair must be short. Girls' long hair must be tied up (扎起来). Wear school uniforms on school days.

   Seven students live together in a large, bright room. The school wants students to learn to live together and think for others. Four counselors take care of them during the daytime. At least one counselor is on duty at all times.

During the night, one counselor is on duty. In the morning, he or she helps the children get ready for school, have breakfast and go to their classroom.

Young people learn to live together in the group. They learn about others, and they learn about themselves by watching others.

   Tom didn't live too far away from school. So he went there and came back on foot every day. On his way to school he passed a wet playground when it rained. One day the boy came home very wet. His mother became very angry and said, "Don't play in the water on your way home or to school."

The next day he came home very wet again. His mother became even angrier. "I will tell your father if you come home wet again," she said, "Then he'll punish you."

The next day the young boy was dry when he came home from school. "You were a good boy today," his mother said, "You didn't play in the water," "No," he answered sadly, "There were so many big boys in the water when I got there this afternoon that there wasn't any room for me at all."

   It's December 23rd. Class One is having a __________. They sell __________ things at school. Dave sells apples, oranges and pears. Many people __________ his fruit. He makes(赚得) ten dollars a day.
