Wang Xiaojun is 12 years old. He lives in the country in Hubei. Today is his birthday. His parents prepare a nice dinner for him, but the boy says, “I won’t have the dinner because after the dinner, today is over, and my parents are going to Shenzhen tomorrow. I don’t want to let them go. ”

Wang Xiaojun has the birthday with his parents for the first time in the past three years. Three years ago, his parents went to Shenzhen to work. They stayed and worked there for three years. Tomorrow they have to go back to Shenzhen.

Wang is not the only stay-at-home child. In the country of China, there are many children staying at home without (没有) their parents. Stay-at-home children have a lot of problems. Most of them stay with their grandparents. Some of them don’t study well because their parents can’t help them with their study.

The Chinese government (政府) now is trying to solve (解决) their problems.

   Han Xiao is my good friend. She is thirty-two years old. Now she lives in Guangzhou, China. She teaches Chinese in a junior high school.

Her students like her very much. Every morning she gets up very early. At about 7:00, she usually has two glasses of milk and some bread for breakfast at home. Then she walks to work and gets to school at about a quarter to eight. At 11:30 she eats some rice and some vegetables for lunch. Her favorite drink is apple juice. She goes home at 5:30 in the afternoon. She likes to have noodles(面条) for dinner. On Sunday, she often goes fishing with me.

   Summer is hot, but it is a good season for vocation(假期). Most American students can have a long holiday in summer. So they will enjoy themselves(他们自己) during(在…期间 )the holiday.

Children do not go to school in July and August. Some people like to be at home, read books, or watch TV. Many families take their lunches to eat in a park or a place with many trees or near nice lake(湖泊). Some people have enough(足够的) time and money to travel other countries like France(法国), Japan and Australia. They usually go to these countries by plane. Many families travel by car or train to see interesting places in their own country. Their favorite cities are New York, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Not everyone likes to go to busy cities. Some families travel to the quiet countryside to enjoy themselves.
