Traffic Safety Tips
    If you are among those who think that traffic safety tips are something that need to be given to children and not adults, you are so very young. Being an adult, it is our responsibility to set a good example for others. Remember when you are driving a car with your teenaged son or daughter sitting next to you, he or she is watching you and observing how you drive. So make sure that you follow all the necessary traffic rules to set a good example. Some of the effective traffic safety tips are mentioned below.
    {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
    The first thing that you are supposed to do, and make sure that others in the car also do, is to put your seat belt on. In case there is a child in the car between the age of 4 and 8, a booster seat(儿童座椅)should be used as safety belts are not meant for small children and cannot protect them in case of accidents. Kids under the age of 12 should never sit on the front seat.
    {#blank#}2{#/blank#}
    Do you drive, listen to music, eat your sandwich and speak on the phone all at the same time? If you do this, you are not displaying your super powers but allowing multiple things to distract you. Once you are driving, be it alone or with your friends and family, you are responsible for everyone present in the car. So stop doing other things and focus on driving safe.
    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}
    Driving under pressure with your mind filled with problems at work or at home would easily allow you to distract your mind off the road leading to an accident. So make sure that you don't let the things outside your car affect you when you are in the car.
    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}
    Your emotions or impatience may make you break the signal at times. Or break the speed limit because you are getting late. Don't do that! The consequences for that may actually be enough to separate you from your driver's license on a permanent basis. Make sure you obey the traffic rules and guidelines and do all to be a responsible citizen.
    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
    Last but not the least, keep your car in good condition. Make sure you are giving your car for servicing and maintenance on time. Make sure you always check your vehicle tires before hitting the road and don't run out of gas!
    So these were some of the main traffic safety tips that should be followed by one and all in order to stay safe and be an example for others. Remember, rules and regulations are made for your own benefit and safety. So make sure that you obey them. Take care and have a safe ride.

       According to a new scientific research, we are rapidly going close to major climate change and the effects on the environment could be quite serious. Geographers predict that climate zones could completely disappear within the next eighty years. Where will crops be grown if this happens? When the climate changes a lot, polar regions will get colder and tropical regions will get even hotter. As a result, where will animals be forced to move on the earth?
       Climate changes like these could lead to the spread of diseases. Tropical storms and hurricanes(飓风) will not only increase but may also become stronger. If the changes come too quickly, animals and plants may not be able to adapt(适应) right away and could disappear from the earth.
       According to Science Daily, a new study predicts that, by the year 2100, many of today's familiar climates will be taken place by climate unknown in today's world. It is urgent that we reduce the risks of far-reaching results for the whole world. The planet itself has been showing signs of change. In 2004, a huge tsunami created by a major earthquake killed thousands in Sumatra and in 2008, thousands more died in China in another big earthquake. Egypt was hit in 2009 with a major earthquake and Haiti was destroyed seriously and became ruins in 2010 by another big earthquake.
       Not long ago, scientists discovered ice melting(融化) in west Antarctica(南极洲). This is very worrying because temperatures in this area have remained rather constant(不断的) and actually even lower at time. Melting occurs when temperatures increase and since temperatures have remained, the ice should not be melting. However, satellite data(数据) shows melting around west Antarctica.
       Within just the last few months, new reports from around the world have been coming in and most agree that our climate situation is much worse than previously expected. At this point, it doesn't matter what is causing it, but rather, what can be done about it. On the other hand, our world is getting more and more unstable(不稳定) every year. Natural disasters(灾难) are becoming more frequent(频繁的) and serious.
       However, other planets are experiencing global warming as well as our own and some scientists believe there may be some connections between these. No one knows anything for sure at this point because there is simply not enough data.

    When Dean Arnold got his first job, he was miserable (痛苦的), Each time he went to work, he coughed and he couldn't breathe. Working in a bakery(面包房) when you are allergic to (对…过敏) flour can be painful.
        But Arnold stayed with the National Biscuit Company for ten years. He was a businessman and he helped them improve production. At last his health problems became too serious. He left and formed his own company.
       With his wife and mother, he founded Arnold Bakery. They tried new recipes (配方). changing the kind and amount of flour used. This enabled Arnold to work there without too much pain. The bread, made with unbleached flour (标准粉), was baked in a brick oven (烘炉).
       They began by baking two dozen loaves(条). The bread was sold door to door for fifteen cents a loaf. Winning customers to his unusual, old-fashioned bread took time. But Arnold, struggling against his allergy, built his bakery into one of the largest in the United States.
9.

A doctor should answer for his p{#blank#}1{#/blank#} just as a teacher for his students.

    Everyone seems{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(have) his or her own holiday. Dad has Father's Day. Mom has Mother's Day. Children have Children's Day. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(lover)have Valentine's Day. But is there a special day{#blank#}3{#/blank#}older people?

Of course. The Chongyang Festival is the holiday when Chinese people show love for their{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(old). Celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the festival is also known as the Double Ninth Festival. Nine is the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(high) digit(数字), so it{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(regard)that the two together mean a long life.

The festival comes {#blank#}7{#/blank#}the golden time of autumn. The clear weather and the joy of harvest make for a happy atmosphere. On the day, people{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(traditional)climb a mountain and carry dogwood(茱萸). People in ancient times believed{#blank#}9{#/blank#}the plant could drive away evil{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(spirit) and prevent people against cold in winter.
