Everyone in Mr Brown’s family is busy this weekend. Mr Brown is going to the bank in the morning. Mrs Brown is going to the shop by car. Their daughter Ann is going to finish(完成) her homework. Ann’s brother Tom is going to play computer games. And then, they’re going to visit grandparents in the afternoon. They are going by subway because it’s far.

Mike is a student of Liwan School. He is eleven years old, he is thin and short. He is often sick. He doesn’t eat much food for lunch or dinner, because he always eats candy or other snacks（零食）before meals. He doesn’t like sports and seldom takes exercise. After school, he goes back home and begins to do his homework at about 6: 00 p. m. When he finishes his homework before 9: 30, he sometimes does some reading. His home is far away from the school, he needs to get up early. But he can’t! Because he goes to bed after 11:00 p. m. every night. Yesterday he was late for school again, and he slept in class. Homework was a little difficult for him. He felt sad. What should he do?

When you speak, write an e-mail or make a phone call, you are communicating(交流) with words. Sometimes you can communicate without words. A smile on your face shows you are happy and friendly. Tears in your eyes tell others that you are sad. When you put up your hands in class, your teacher knows you want to say something or ask questions. You nod and people know you are saying “Yes”. You shake your head and people know you are saying “No”. These carry messages(消息) for you. Other things can also carry messages. For example(例如), a sign on the bus tells you where it goes. Signs in public(公众的) places tell you what to do or not to do.

People can also communicate in many other ways. An artist can draw beautiful mountains, the blue sea and many other things. A writer can write about all the wonderful things in the world and also about people. Books, magazines(杂志), TV, radio and films all help us communicate with others.

My name is Li Ming. I get up at 6:30. I eat breakfast at 7:00. I go to school at 7:40. Class begins at 8:00. I have an English class and a maths class in the morning. I have a Chinese class in the afternoon. I play sports at 3:00 p.m. I go home at 4:30 p.m. This is my day.
