My name is Kate. I have two new friends. They are Amy and Mike. Amy is a girl. She is thin and tall. She has long hair, big eyes and ears. She has glasses. She is quite. Mike is a boy. He is short and strong. He has brown hair. He has a big mouth and a big nose. He has green bag.

I like many kinds of sports, basketball is one of them. In this sport, every member is an important part. Basketball is a sport more than just exercising. It needs team work. No one can play himself. A team should work together. We can enjoy running, jumping, shooting in the basketball game together with other members. No matter we win or not, we are happy, because we are fighting during the game, and our body become healthier. Come on, friends, love this game please, and enjoy your health and joy!

Basketball requires speed, height and skills. I run, jump, switch, and try to hit! All parts of my body are exercised in this sport. I feel that I’m like wind flying in the playground for my goal. It makes me feel so great!

I went to two cities to play during last summer holidays. They are Beijing and Hohhot.

I went to Beijing more than eight times. Beijing is the capital of China. It’s a big city. I am very familiar with Beijing. It takes an hour and forty minutes to travel from Nantong to Beijing by plane. There are many tall buildings in Beijing. My family visited the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum, Beihai Park, the Space Museum and so on.

I went to the countryside of Beijing to go boating and fishing. It was very interesting. I like eating Beijing snacks. They are delicious. I also miss Beijing Duck. It is really nice.

Hohhot is in Inner Mongolia. There is lots of grassland there. The grassland is endless. The sky is bright blue. There are a lot of horses and sheep. They were running or eating grass when I got there. I rode a horse on the grassland. I picked some colourful flowers. We drank tea with milk. There is a small desert, it was very hot when I walked on it. The sand can sing.

These trips helped me open my eyes. I enjoyed my holidays.

Today is Sunday, it is October now. Our class has a picnic in a nature park. There are three groups. The first group is collecting leaves, there are many golden leaves. The second group is catching butterflies, it is very interesting. And my group is taking pictures. We want to remember this wonderful day.

There is a bad king and all his people hate him. One hot day, the king goes to swim by himself in a river. Suddenly he feels very week and can’t move his hands or legs. At this dangerous moment, two farmers are working in the field and see everything. Of course, the farmers don’t know the man in the river is a king. So the farmers jump into the river and save the king out of the water.

The king thanks the farmers and says, “I’m your king. Ask for anything, and I will give it to you.”

The first farmer says, “My father and mother are sick in bed, can you give me some money to send them to a doctor?” The king agrees. Then he asks the second farmer, “How about you? What do you want?”

The farmer looks worried and unhappy, “Don’t let the other people know I see you.”
